Maintenance & Operations

Our Role:

  • Maintain and protect facilities, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe learning environment
  • Assess all PSUSD facilities and provide for planned replacement of various building components (Deferred Maintenance)
  • Promote utilities cost savings through energy management
  • Participate in Emergency Response and Disaster Preparedness
  • Implement Integrated Pest Management Training, Education, and Control per the Healthy Schools Act of 2000
  • Coordinate recycling of universal waste (i.e. fluorescent bulbs, lighting ballast, batteries, etc)

  • Preventative and corrective maintenance, minor alterations and improvements
  • On-line work order system (TMA)
  • After hours emergency call-out
  • Summer “Deep Cleaning” custodial program
  • Landscaping, irrigation, and pest management

Maintenance & Operations Department process over 13,500 work orders per year
Grounds Department maintains approximately 350 acres of landscaping
Maintenance and Custodial are responsible for the upkeep of 28 sites totaling over 2.3 million square feet, made up of:

  • 16 Elementary Schools
  • 4 Middle Schools
  • 3 High Schools
  • Adult Education, Continuation High School, Alternative Center, District Offices, and Facilities Maintenance/Warehouse/Purchasing/Reprographics/Mailroom/Food Service complex
