Program Description
Ramon Alternative Center serves approximately 300 students in grades K-12 in a variety of academic programs designed to meet individual needs.
The following programs are housed on the Ramon campus:
Home schooling for grades K-8.
Independent study for grades 6-12
Online independent study for grades 9-12
7th, 8th and 9th grade opportunity for students who need to address basic skills prior to returning to traditional high school.
Rebound: A program enabling students in grades 7-12 on suspended expulsion to receive academic instruction and earn credit while completing expulsion requirements.
The Opportunity Works program, which connects 9th graders to the community through self-designed community service projects.
- Opportunity for grade 8. The program uses community service and mentors to reconnect students to the purpose of school.
- The PSUSD Adult Education Program is now located on the Ramon campus.
All placements at Ramon are voluntary. Students are accepted as space is available at our district’s alternative education screening panel meetings. All students at the Ramon Alternative Center are required to take all district and state required tests.
